Thursday marked the 41st anniversary Blessed Pope Paul VI’s declaration of Arlington as a diocese in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Before this, the Catholic Diocese of Richmond served the entire state of Virginia. There are over 700,000 Catholics in the state today.
This week we pray in a special way for the graduating Class of 2015 at our diocesan high schools: Bishop Ireton High School, Bishop O’Connell High School, Paul VI Catholic High School and Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School. Stay tuned for more photos from the 2015 commencements in coming weeks!
As the school year comes to a close, it is with gratitude and appreciation that we thank our retiring teachers and staff for their commitment to Catholic education and wish them well in the future!
This week in our presence, posts and prose, we remember those who answer the call to protect and serve. This collage only captures only a small portion of this story. Check our social media accounts linked below for more.
During the month of June, pray alongside of Pope Francis. Today, the Vatican released the Holy Father’s monthly prayer intentions for refugees, the priesthood and consecrated life.
